Feb 10, 2011 - I just washed my hair the way you described in the video. My hair feels so clean and it looks better than after i shampoo.I thank you for the email of how to make nice scented water.I have talked to my son and his gf about this and I am sure that they will follow.I only have one problem now How do I give away my expensive shampoo and conditioners when people see how much nicer my hair is now and i tell them why i am giving it away.I noticed less hair falls out when i wash this way.

May 1, 2011 - @StaceyNicolePaine -- awe, ty. will pass that on to her, will make her smile. :) have gr8 day.

CoolKarmaVideo Says:

May 1, 2011 - @limewolf3 -- I use either white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. I don't actually notice a difference .. so I tend to buy the white in gallon jugs .. is cheaper.

May 15, 2011 - Hi, I am thinking of starting a no poo routine and was curious about brushing the hair with the boar bristle brush. Do we brush the hair right after washing it to distribute the oils while the hair is wet or do we comb it with a comb and then when dry do the boar bristle routine? Or does it matter? Thanks for your help.

CoolKarmaVideo Says:

May 18, 2011 - @wendygm55 -- Good question. For me . . . I brush my hair BEFORE I wash it. And I also use a comb in the shower to help strip out any build up. Good luck finding something that works for you. :)

May 19, 2011 - I don't use shampoo, but occasionally I'll put lemon juice and/or olive oil in it. The science behind the olive oil is like moisturiser/conditioner, and lemon juice, what it does is it's acidic and eats away bad stuff, but also, acids make the scales of your hair go down, whereas alkaline make them go up, so acid makes your hair look really smooth, I've done it for 2 months now, been awesome.

Jul 16, 2011 - Great video.... got a couple questions. I'm a guy that has a closely shaved head. Not Mr. Clean bald, but more like a really short buzz cut or stubble. Lately I have been just rinsing my hair when I shower, but noticed that I had the waxy build up on my scalp that you mentioned in the video.1) Would lemon juice be okay to use considering I have a very very very short hair cut? You can see my scalp.2) how much baking soda should I use and do I need vinegar since i have a shaved head?thx

jenwic2 Says:

Aug 17, 2011 - Is it hard to comb out your hair after washing it (tangly)?

KAngelWhimseyMiloK Says:

Aug 28, 2011 - how much do I need to use for oily hair? baking soda and vinegar

CoolKarmaVideo Says:

Aug 28, 2011 - @jenwic2 .. i use a wide tooth comb in the shower and even my very long hair is not hard to comb out after washing with the solutions.

CoolKarmaVideo Says:

Aug 28, 2011 - @KAngelWhimseyMiloK -- that depends on your particular body chemistry and it may change over time. For me (and my hair tended to be oily when I used traditional shampoo) .. I use two TBL baking soda to 2 cups of water. And at the moment, I am using about 3 TBL vingar, straight as a rinse. For me, that seems to work best. But most people use only about a TBL vinegar in one cup of water. Good luck finding something that works for you.

Aug 31, 2011 - it's great information but presentation needs a little work. Notice at 4:30 that when Martha says (about adding essential oils) "I use about one drop per cup" mom is mouthing the words at the same time. It's like a ventriloquism act.The daughter is so self conscious, it's like she's drunk, but she does have lovely hair. The colour is gorgeous. Maybe with a bit more practice it'll come across as less awkward.

Oct 10, 2011 - Nice. Thanks for the advice. I'm on day 7 and your ideas worked perfectly. I added frankincense and myrrh to the apple cider vinegar because I love what these smell like and anti-bacterial effects. . It's a matter of patience and VERY IMPORTANT: properly dissolving baking soda and then completely rinsing it out. (that rinses many residues out!) Towel drying briskly does remove the excess oils. I use vinegar and above oil scents in the conditioner but only 2-3 drops needed in a pint jar.

Jan 14, 2012 - There are so many brushes in this world and somehow I just knew you had the same exact brush I use, LOL (the first one with black and silver handle. There are other natural boar bristle brushes but the bristles are sometimes way too stiff and don't feel good on the scalp. Finding one with more flexible bristles works better to massage the scalp without damage. BTW, everything soap does, baking soda does better including cleaning your brush.
