Apr 29, 2009 - If it looks disorganized or like the cook was not skilled it may be my fault for how I photographed and edited. The cook was actually cranking out dozens of these at a time and keeping a buffet line feeding hundreds fully supplied. And his utensils and work area were clean - or I wouldn't have eaten the hawawshi - which were delicious. The same cook prepared a different item each night we were there & did quite well - & the guests were a demanding bunch.

Oct 14, 2009 - Thank you for uploading this video, FYI That's not the real traditional Hawawshi what you see here is called safiha / Pie usually made by Lebanese.Egyptian Hawawshi is made from whole wheat ready made bread, filled with regular ground beef sometimes extra greasy, mixed with onion, green pepper, spices, hot pepper" Shata" and wrapped with wax paper in the upscale restaurant or with newspaper in the local places. baked for about 30 minutes, then, enjoy the real yummy Hawawshi.

Nov 10, 2009 - This looks fantastic. Normally when i do this at home, I also add a diced capsicum and it's great... and if, I'm short on time, I use fresh lebanese bread, instead of making a fresh dough - also wonderful!

Apr 29, 2009 - How untidy and disorganized, it seems as if the cook played football but never cooked.
