Aug 7, 2010 - In Ghana cooking is done outside because its tropical and hot inside and it takes several people to cook one meal as everything is done from scratch, take a peek in the kitchens and they all have cookers. Hot seasoning and oil in dishes prevent tropical infections. Go down south the continent and it's a totally different cuisine (they certainly couldn't pound anything outside in the winter). There you'll find mostly cultured milk and steamed breads.

Nov 11, 2011 - Sorry, but you generalize WAY too much. Stop referring to "African" food! Each country has very different cuisine. African "pounder"? There's no such thing. "Most Africans are cooking with fire?" "Most Africans are cooking with one pot?" Such statements are not appropriate. Each country, each tribe, each culture has its own methods, foods, tools, equipment, etc.

Mrs King (as starred in these videos) has herself visited a school in Ghana and is speaking from her own personal experience.
